| Dr. Ryan Modlinski specializes in Primary Care Sports Medicine. He was born and raised in Kentucky and obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Louisville in Kentucky.
He then graduated from Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA. After medical school, he completed his residency in University of North Carolina’s Family Medicine program at Moses Cone Family Practice in Greensboro, NC. This training provided him with knowledge in various aspects of internal medicine, women’s health and pediatrics that could be applied to the broad field of sports medicine.
Following residency, he completed a sports medicine fellowship at the University of North Carolina’s Moses Cone Sports Medicine program. His fellowship responsibilities included the NCAA Division I & III intercollegiate sports including football, soccer, basketball, volleyball, wrestling, and lacrosse teams. The fellowship also provided him the opportunity to participate in the care of the Greensboro Grasshoppers (a minor league affiliate of the Florida Marlins), PGA Tour events, the ACC tournament, NCAA National Soccer Championships, Arena Football, ECHL minor hockey and a variety of other local club and youth teams. Dr. Modlinski also served as a medical consultant and volunteer for the Special Olympics of North Carolina. Additionally, Dr. Modlinski has been a part of the medical team for national and international events including the Marine Corp Marathon, the Nike Outdoor National Track & Field Championships and the Ironman Triathlon in Kona, Hawaii.
A Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice, Dr. Modlinski is a member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, and is Board Certified in Sports Medicine.
In addition to providing general orthopedic and fracture care and medical orthopedic care to athletes of all ages, Dr. Modlinski specializes in sports health and all medical conditions related to sports participation. He provides pre-participation physical exams, exercise and rehabilitation prescriptions, custom-fit orthotics and has an interest in nutritional and sports supplements. He lectures periodically on current sports medicine topics such as concussions, orthotics, heat injuries and endurance injuries as well as throwing injuries in the adolescent baseball athlete. As a runner himself, he also has a special interest in running injuries.
Currently, Dr. Modlinski serves as a team physician for Fort Worth Christian School.
In his free time, Dr. Modlinski enjoys running, golfing, mountain biking, skiing, and travelling both nationally and internationally. |
