A certain level of exercise is needed to increase your metabolism and burn calories, so not being able to reach that level leads to weight gain.
- Medication Side Effects: Doctors prescribe many medications for chronic pain. These often come with weight gain as a side effect. This is particularly true with anti-depressants, which are often prescribed to reach restorative sleep.
